POSITION: Internship or Volunteer Position (unpaid, college credit available)
DATES: Mid-January to June 2012 (shorter or longer terms available)
COMMITMENT: 10-20 hours per week
JOB DESCRIPTION: The San Diego Asian Film Foundation is seeking a creative, outgoing, and responsible volunteer to assist in creating various graphics and designs for foundation related events and projects. Candidates will work on graphic designs for online, print, and physical promotions. Associates will work directly with the Graphic Design Director, but also assist Marketing Director and Associate Director.
BENEFITS: This position offers a unique opportunity to experience and participate in an exciting film and cultural event. Interns get hands-on experience with festival planning and implementation, as well as adding your work with one of the biggest film festivals in the region to your portfolio. This can also be a great networking opportunity and valuable experience for those aspiring to participate in the Graphic Design, Marketing, Film, and Non-Profit fields.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Our ideal candidate would possess the following skills and traits:
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat)
- Knowledge of HTML a Plus
- Graphic design experience
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Attention to detail
- Reliable transportation to our office
- Ability to work as a leader and as a part of a larger team
