YOUTH DAY

Thank you to all participating schools, teachers, and students from Youth Day 2011. Keep checking back for more information on how get involved in Youth Day 2012. If you're interested in how to get SDAFF more involved in your classroom throughout the year, please email us at info[at]sdaff[dot]org.

Each year during the San Diego Asian Film Festival, we present Youth Day, a free day of youth-oriented film screenings to culturally educate, enlighten, and enhance students’ film literacy skills. We partner with local businesses and area high schools to draw hundreds of students for a day full of film and learning at the Hazard Center UltraStar Cinemas. Students also have the opportunity to meet and hear from filmmakers.

FOR TEACHERS

While Youth Day is open to all local high schools, we are particularly interested in working with teachers and students in the area of film, media arts, and ethnic studies. We provide each teacher with a study guide to prepare students for Youth Day.

We also provide lunch for students, and limited funding is available for bussing. However, we ask each school to help with transportation as much as they can.
