I bought my ticket online. How do I see the show?

If you bought tickets online, you should print out a copy of your receipt that has a bar code. You will use this bar code to get through the ticket line.

How early should I show up to the festival?

We strongly suggest you show up at least 15 minutes before the film's scheduled showtime. For more popular films (i.e., opening night, spotlight film, closing night), you should arrive at least 30-45 minutes before showtime.

Why should I buy my tickets online before the festival?

You can avoid the long lines, and guarantee yourself a seat (as long as you show up 15 minutes before the scheduled program). Tickets are also discounted online, but there is a $0.99 processing fee per ticket (as long as you register with UltraStar). But it's still cheaper and more convenient than buying at the door. Another perk - there's a special line for online ticket buyers, which gets you in before people who buy at the door!

I bought a Festival 4-Pack. How can I redeem it for tickets, and can I get multiple tickets to the same program?

You can bring your Festival 4-Pack to the UltraStar box office starting October 9, and redeem it for most programs, except for FINISHING THE GAME (opening night) or WEST 32ND (closing night). You can get multiple tickets to the same program with the Festival 4-Pack for friends and family

What if I don't use up all 4 tickets on my Festival 4-pack? Can I get a refund?

Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds. So be sure to use up all the tickets.

Do you sell day passes?

No. We sell All-Fest Passes (online only), Festival 4-Packs, and individual tickets.

Can I get a group discount if I bring a big group of friends, family, or co-workers?

Yes, we offer group discounts ($6 per ticket) for 10 people and more to the same program, however, the group discount is only available if arranged before the festival and paid in full. Group discounts only until Tuesday, October 9 at 12:01 AM. Please contact us at ticketing@sdaff.org.

What kind of other discounts do you have?

We offer steep discounts for people who join the SDAFF as a member. Also, we offer $2 off for students, military with valid ID. Plus, anyone with a Harrah's club card, Viejas V-club card, or Eastlake Card receives the $2 discount as well.

Can I get a refund if I buy a ticket, but for some reason, can't make the screening?

No. We do not offer any refunds. However, we do provide exchanges in the rare occasion a show is oversold.

What if a program is listed as sold-out? Is there still a chance I could get in?

Yes! Every film festival has a "rush line" for sold-out shows since some ticket and pass holders may not show up. If there are open seats 15 minutes before showtime they will be made available for patrons in the "rush line."
