2010 San Diego Asian Film Festival Call For Entries
The 2010 San Diego Asian Film Festival is now accepting entries. This is your opportunity to be a part of one of the largest Pan Asian film festivals in the nation. We welcome filmmakers from around the world to submit their work for competition in our 11th film fest celebration to be held October 21-28, 2010.

San Diego Asian Film Festival Wraps Up Largest Film Festival in County History
(San Diego, CA - October 31, 2009) - More than 27,000 people attended the 10th annual San Diego Asian Film Festival (SDAFF), October 15-29 at the Mission Valley UltraStar Cinemas at Hazard Center. The Festival premiered more than 200 films from 20 countries during the 15-day event making it the largest film exhibition in San Diego County history.
"Not only did we see a larger, more diverse audience, but the energy level and excitement among attendees was infectious," said SDAFF executive director, Lee Ann Kim. "We are also incredibly grateful to our major funders - Toyota, Barona Valley Ranch and Casino, Netflix, Wells Fargo, and the County of San Diego - for stepping up during such a difficult time in our economy to ensure our 10th anniversary was a success."
Festival Highlights
Record number of sold-out screening including Opening Night, Closing Night, and Centerpiece Film - John Woo's war epic, Red Cliff
Attendees selected our first Audience Award Winner - White on Rice, directed by David Boyle. The Audience Award was presented by Harrah's Rincon Casino.
Broadest spectrum of films to include Festival's first Bollywood film (Om Shanti Om), and films from Indonesia, Russia, and even Switzerland
Nearly 200 filmmakers, actors, industry guests participated in Q&As during the festival. Filmmakers traveled from as far as South Korea, China, France, and Brazil.
Three successful panels, including our first panel dedicated to the Art of Fighting and Stunts, with Hollywood's biggest stuntwoman, Zoe Bell, participating
Successful film spotlights on North Korea, Taiwan, and Extreme films from Japan
Festival's Free Films at Four served more than 1,000 people who may not have been able to afford attending otherwise. Free Films at Four were presented by Target
World premiere of Festival's Reel Voices documentaries, directed by local high school students. Reel Voices is also available on DVD and free On Demand on Time Warner Cable.
Hosted 300+ high school students for Youth Day during the Festival
Successful cancer awareness campaign included festival attendees folding 1,000 origami cranes that will be donated to the cancer ward of Rady's Children's Hospital
More than 800 people attended the Festival's Gala Awards Dinner, October 17 during which the following winners were announced:
