Zsazsa Zaturnnah

Official Selection, 2026 Annecy International Animation Film Festival
Closing Film, 2026 Hong Kong Lesbian & Gay Film Festival

Ada has had his heart, body, and spirit broken too many times by the men in his life. A gay, small-town beautician, he empowers his clients to pursue their big-city opportunities with each glamorous makeover. But his unmended heart leaves him reluctant to chase his own dreams and the hunk-next-door, Dodong. Content to run the salon with his best friend Didi, everything changes when a pink luminous asteroid crashes through the roof, giving him the power to become the full-figured superheroine Zsazsa Zaturnnah.

As Zsazsa Zaturnnah, great power comes with great femininity. Through bad-ass feats—dominating enormous eggplant, tentacle monsters, and flaming-hot cock—Zsazsa gains fame and fortune from the town while earning Dodong’s recognition. While his secret alter ego is celebrated for her feminine strength, Ada continues to be ridiculed for his. When Amazonistas from Planet X threaten to eradicate the planet’s entire male population, will Ada find the love within himself to defend his neighbors?

Created in 2002 by Carlo Vergara, Zsazsa Zaturnnah has been a Filipino LGBTQ+ icon spanning comics, musicals, and live action. With superheroes dominating the box office, it’s time for a queer superhero to take center stage. In her animated feature debut, ZSAZSA ZATURNNAH is an adventurous, campy, and vibrant story about embracing one’s identities in spite of the hate in the world, choosing love over division.
