Heals

Closing Night Film, 2026 Inside Out 2SLGBTQ+ Film Festival
Official Selection, 2026 Sheffield DocFest

Pangina Heals (Pan Pan Narkprasert), Thai drag queen, and global sensation from RuPaul’s Drag Race: UK vs. the World, reflects on her pain and gains in exclusive interviews with filmmaker Pailin Wedel (Hope Frozen, SDAFF ‘19). Drag fans, come for the glamour and stay for the queen behind the glitter. Beneath the courage, charisma, and sparkle lie family struggles and the tireless work of keeping others entertained. Life goes on without a script, but Pangina runs her own show… and serves while doing it.

From Pan Pan’s difficult childhood and strained relationship with his alcoholic mother, graduating with a fine arts degree from UCLA, to Pattaya cabaret days, becoming the “Whaacking Queen” of Thailand, and rising as a global icon, Pangina Heals’ story goes beyond recognition or fulfillment. HEALS takes on a process of self-seeking: what does it mean to live? Most of us spend our lives without a clear answer; Pangina turns that uncertainty into an invitation to live fully, with feeling and flair. Life exacts its costs, but those costs never dim Pangina’s sparkle or her determination to claim the stage. Misery and misfortune may arrive in many disguises, but a queen knows something about a costume change.
