About the SDAFF Spring Showcase
A focused and high-energy weekend of bold, independent storytelling from Asia and the Asian diaspora, the San Diego Asian Film Festival (SDAFF) Spring Showcase is one of Pacific Arts Movement’s (Pac Arts) signature year-round programs.
While SDAFF in the fall highlights cutting-edge and emerging voices, Spring Showcase offers a tightly curated selection of festival favorites, cinematic standouts, and some of the most celebrated and popular films from Asia. This streamlined format brings audiences together for a more concentrated and dynamic shared experience.
We believe cinema has the power to inspire, bridge communities, and create change. If you’re passionate about global storytelling and independent film, JOIN THE MOVEMENT by becoming a Pac Arts member. Learn more on our Membership page.
Pacific Arts Movement (Pac Arts) is a non-profit media arts organization dedicated to presenting Asian and Asian American Pacific Islander cinema to inspire, entertain, and foster a more compassionate society. Pac Arts presents the San Diego Asian Film Festival (SDAFF)—the largest showcase of Asian cinema on the West Coast—bringing West Coast, North American, and World premieres to San Diego. Committed to equity, inclusion, and artistic excellence, Pac Arts strengthens San Diego as an arts and cultural hub.
Pac Arts presents the San Diego Asian Film Festival, the most comprehensive portrait of Asian and Asian American cinema in North America. The 26th Annual SDAFF is scheduled for November 6–15, 2025. Since its founding in 2000, SDAFF has premiered groundbreaking films such as the U.S. premiere of Bong Joon-ho’s Memories of Murder, the North American premiere of Patrick Wang’s In the Family, and the world premiere of the box-office smash Cells at Work! Each year, SDAFF brings West Coast, North American, and World premieres to San Diego, offering audiences rare and extraordinary cinematic experiences.

Pac Arts is committed to sharing powerful stories with audiences year-round through the San Diego Asian Film Festival, Spring Showcase, Spotlight Screenings, and Outdoor Screenings. From our award-winning high school documentary program Reel Voices to Youth Days at the festival, we are also dedicated to educating and nurturing a new generation of creative leaders and storytellers.
Spring Showcase: Launched in 2010, a multi-day presentation of the best of Asian and Asian American cinema on the other side of the calendar year.
Youth Days: Two free days of youth-oriented film screenings to culturally educate, enlighten, and enhance local students’ film literacy skills.
Reel Voices: Since 2005, Pacific Arts Movement has empowered local high school students to learn the art of documentary filmmaking. This 8-week summer class helps students become socially-conscious storytellers, learn video editing, and experience all stages of production.
Spotlight Screenings: Pac Arts presents year-round film programs throughout San Diego County.
Cinemathek: Presented in partnership with Digital Gym Cinema, this series highlights bold, international, and independent cinema.
