The punk king of American indies is back! 12 years since his last feature, Gregg Araki delivers a raucous send-up of Gen Z anxieties over sex and work. Cooper Hoffman’s uptight Elliot inexplicably gets an assistantship under the zany kink artist Erika (a deliciously randy Olivia Wilde) who asks Elliot to deliver more than just coffee. Tiptoeing into this mousetrap from a culture of consent, Elliot is confused about how to respond to his boss’s advances – and what to do when he’s actually turned on by them.

Araki is all whips in I WANT YOUR SEX, satirizing generational conflict with a modern-day Sunset Boulevard – if Norma Desmond wore leather. As crisp and comedic a film as Araki has ever made, this artworld farce is an orgy of nepo babies with the aesthetic of a sex shop by way of Nickelodeon. And we see you Asians! Chase Sui Wonders plays a roommate down for adventure, Charlie XCX is a girlfriend never down for sex, and Margaret Cho has an extended cameo as an investigator who can’t tell down from up in this collision of low and high art.
