A missing girl, a terrible leg injury, a desolate cabin. College friends Asai and Jiyong hike their annual pilgrimage up a mountain in honor of their friend Sayuri, who mysteriously disappeared during a similar hiking trip. On the brink of death with an injured leg, Jiyong spills a well-kept secret: he killed Sayuri.
But Jiyong doesn’t die, and the two men find refuge in a cabin, waiting to be saved. With hidden knives everywhere, blindness from altitude-induced sickness, and frantic switches between Japanese and Korean – will Jiyong kill Asai before he’s rescued?
Director Nobuhiro Yamashita switches gears from his youth classics Linda Linda Linda and A Gentle Breeze in the Village and tackles the B-movie, rampaging for 76 minutes in a cat-and-mouse game with unsettling horror and gore. This cabin thriller dives into the human psyche and nightmarish manifestations of blame and guilt, unraveling with grotesqueness and suspense to reveal the truth behind a hike from sixteen years ago.
