Based on the incredible true story of a theater operator turned scrappy amateur filmmaker, SUPERBOYS OF MALEGAON follows Nasir, who is obsessed with movies. The crowd. The actors. The swagger. The optical magic tricks. But he lives impossibly far from Bollywood in a small town called Malegaon, and the police are about to shut down his movie theater for playing bootlegs and his special Bruce Lee-Jackie Chan mashups. So Nasir has a brilliant idea: remake a Bollywood classic that is set, cast, and produced entirely by his best friends and the good folks of Malegaon. Does Nasir know how to make movies? No! But Nasir’s fire has got everyone ready to take a chance. As the stakes keep climbing, their wild ride to success will transform Nasir, his buddies, and the entire village.
