For this year’s festival, we explored themes of Asian American community through the lens of aura: mutable, sensory and responsive presence rippling out from collective vibrations rather than projecting from a single source. The main typeface was chosen for this vibrational quality, suggesting form and dimensionality through layered oscillating outlines.
About the Artist
Alice Chau is an art director at Letterform Archive, where she combines her passion for book design with her love of typography. She has been designing books & identities for cultural orgs, trade, and indie presses since 2006, including periodic publication design for SDAFF and Spring Showcase.
