SDAFF Drive-In! Frequently Asked Questions

What safety protocols and precautions are being put in place?

Pacific Arts Movement will adhere to all CDC and State of California guidelines to ensure the event meets or exceeds all recommended healthy and safety standards. Festival staff and volunteers will be wearing PPE (personal protective equipment) as required by CDC guidelines.

We ask that all guests remain in their vehicles and practice social distancing as much as possible. You may remove your mask if you are in your vehicle, but if you leave your vehicle, please wear your mask and maintain proper social distancing. Safety guidelines will be strictly enforced and failure to follow safe social distancing or requests from festival staff may lead to removal from the event.

What does a SDAFF Drive-In! ticket entail?

SDAFF Drive-In! tickets are good for entry for one vehicle to the selected screening and location. Once you arrive, there is no assigned parking and staff will do their best to accommodate all ticketed vehicles. For sightline reasons, taller vehicles such as SUVs and trucks will be parked towards the rear of the venue so as not to block the views of smaller cars. RVs, campers, and oversized vehicles are not permitted. For everyone’s safety, please stay within your assigned parking space for the duration of the event.

How do I check-in and park?

Event venue information and directions will be sent to all ticketholders ahead of the screening.

Please make sure to have your ticket printed in advance or ready on your phone for us to scan upon arrival. If you feel uncomfortable rolling your window down, please show the code though the window. Festival staff and volunteers will then direct your vehicle to the appropriate parking space.

In order to ensure a quality projected image, we kindly ask that all attending vehicles turn their car headlights off. Prior to arrival, please locate how to manually turn your car headlights off.

Can I arrive late to the screening?

In order to ensure all patrons have an enjoyable experience, please plan to arrive early.  Any late arrivals, 20 minutes after the showing has begun, will not be permitted into the SDAFF Drive-In! event space. No refunds or exchanges will be provided.

Will restrooms be available?

For the Convoy District screenings, restrooms will be located inside Zion Market. For the South Bay screenings, restroom locations are to be determined. When patrons exit their vehicles to use the restroom facilities, they must wear a mask at all times.

What vehicles are permitted?

Festival staff and volunteers will monitor vehicle parking to ensure the best viewing for all visitors. Large vehicles, trucks and SUVs will be required to park in the rear. Tailgates must remain no taller than the height of the vehicle. RVs, campers and oversized vehicles are not permitted.

How do I listen to the movie?

The evening’s audio will be broadcast through FM radio and the primary station will be provided upon check-in. If you have satellite radio, please turn it off before driving into the event. Please ensure your vehicle and headlights are turned off for the screening. In case of a dead battery, please notify a Pac Arts staff member or volunteer for assistance at the conclusion of the screening.

How do I watch the movie?

You may sit in your vehicle, in the bed of your truck, or in the trunk of your hatchback/SUV. You will be asked how you will be viewing the movie prior to entry so that we will direct you to an appropriate parking spot. Sitting on the ground or roof of your vehicle is not allowed. If you will be opening a gate/trunk, please have a method to keep it from opening all the way. In order to preserve sightlines, taller vehicles and/or those that cannot adjust their tailgate height will be asked to park in the rear of the lot. Please use common courtesy so everyone can enjoy the show!

Can I bring food and beverages?

Yes, outside food and beverage is allowed and even encouraged as a way to support local businesses! However, tailgating outside the vehicle is not permitted. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted. Please support our venue hosts by properly disposing of your trash and food waste.

Can I smoke?

Smoking is not permitted within the event space.

Can I bring pets?

Pets are not permitted in the event space.

We ask for your patience and understanding in following these guidelines in order to ensure the safety and enjoyment of each of our SDAFF Drive-In! screenings. Festival staff reserve the right to remove any patrons who do not comply with the guidelines and no refunds or exchanges will be provided.
