For the 10th straight year, SDAFF presents the Taiwan Film Showcase, the largest annual spotlight on Taiwan cinema in North America. The showcase is sponsored by the UCSD Taiwan Studies Lecture Series, UCSD Chuan Lyu Endowed Chair in Taiwan Studies, the Taiwan Academy, and the Taiwan Ministry of Culture. All screenings are free for UCSD students, faculty, and staff with ID at the UltraStar box office.
Join us at noon on Sunday, Oct. 31 for a free screening of shorts from our Reel Voices documentary filmmaking program, which empowers high school students to become socially-conscious storytellers—tackling topics like fandom, beauty standards, belonging, and diversity, in stories that are both personal and deeply relevant to the broader San Diego community.
FREE for Pac Arts members with a membership card.

Suzanne Joe Kai’s documentary sheds light on his greatest hits—the intimate moments with Elton John, Marvin Gaye, and others—as well as his basement tapes: the backstory of a Chinatown kid who helped build music’s most influential magazine.
